Even though I was saved from death within 2 months by quick action on a rapidly growing cancer, including radiation and chemo, it is obvious that improvements could be made in our health care delivery system.

There are two fundamental problems with the current bill, notwithstanding the pure evil that went into getting it passed:

1. It violates the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity by putting the feds at the head of the process instead of the tail, where it should be there for catastrophic care - as short term as possible. (The Federal Government has no competence in health, education and welfare and should only be involved in these in short bursts during emergencies.)

2. It violates the Founders observation in the Declaration of Independence as to "pretended legislation." (PL) I've been looking for adequate modern definitions of PL, and decided these are good for starters:

 a. Any bill over say 100 pages has to be loaded with "poison pills." This one has over 2,300 of them given the ill-defined blank checks given various bureaucrats and the 150 or so new agencies being formed to administer it. Ike's National Defense Highway Act that built the Interstate was only 27 pages.

 b. Any bill that has earmarks and riders attached to it is surely PL. e.g., Obama fulfilled one campaign promise of "building a civilian defense force as large as and as well funded as the military." See page 1312. That is by far the worst imposition on needed legislation I've ever seen... and should be an impeachable offense for all the despots who had anything to do with inserting and passing it.

 c. Given that the vast bulk of this bill is going to be defined by bureaucrats far away from my doctor's office, one might want to at least have some God-fearing folks in those positions. Fat chance with a Czar roster full of Maoists, Marxists, eugenicists and fellow travelers. Can we look forward to a repeat of Austria in 1938 or The Ukraine about the same time? Too many Boomers to take care of now that we've aborted 50 million potential workers and sold our soul for some phony ecology. Can you spell "Euthanasia?"

Anyone else have a definition of PL?

The USA became great because her people generally followed subsidiarity and solidarity. The Church, which built Western Civilization with its art, literature, hospitals, care facilities, schools, universities, scientific method, etc. also followed these principles... warts and all. Neither the people or the Church are welcome in the discussion.
